Good morning! Had a wonderful time last evening for my baby boys birthday. There were few obstacles that I had to climb to get ready for the party but it was a success! My philosophy is that NOTHING in my life is ever easy! I ordered the birthday cake at the beginning of the week. I had this perfect image of a lime green cake with red, blue, and yellow polka dots. Oh yes and one pink polka dot for Sissy ( she specifically asked for that, I thought it was stinking adorable). With such a chaotic day I thought that since my husband was already in Springfield that he could pick up the cake with no problems at all. I was a little nervous but trusted he could do the job well. As I was preparing for the party my husband left to run some errands and I asked my oldest son"Where did Daddy put the cake?" Mind you that it was a heat index of like 100 yesterday. "I think that he left it in his truck mommy." "Ugh!" said mommy. But come to find out he did well he put them in the freezer. So the freezer I go and pull out the cake. I take it to the counter and open the first box ( the smash cake) it was cute, not what I pictured. It was Kelly Green with polka dots and a number one. "That will do" I said. Then I move on to the large cake......There is NO icing! It was ALL on the top of the box lid! I panicked as anyone would do. Then I started thinking...straight to the top of the cake the little smash cake went. Around the base I decorated the flaws with M&M's It turned out adorable and a memory that I won't forget!
Jhude was a typical one year old he didn't understand the present part. Yet, his brother's and sisters were excited and could not wait for him to open his presents. It was so precious how they all sat around in a circle and assisted. Jhadyn was trying to hold him and keep him interested in the presents but Jhude didn't care at all. Jhett was the reader. He opened each card and read them as well as whom they were from. Jhia and Jhak helped open the presents. It was amazing how well the all worked together. "Priceless" I say with no fighting at all.
Now it was on to the cake. We all gathered around the table as always. Grandma Judy & Grandpa, Jeremy's Grandparents, My most special Great Grandmother, My mother & father, sister and nephews, Jeremy's sister & mother and our niece, and all my aunts and cousins. I love it! A large crowd gathered to share such a joyous event. We hit the lights and lit the candle ( large blue polka dotted number one) and it started. A perfect melody of "Happy Birthday" Maybe not exactly perfect in sound but perfect to me because everyone I loved was there participating. The chorus was done and Jhude started into his smash cake. I have never seen a child dig in so neatly. He didn't miss a bite all into his mouth. It was priceless.
It was a conclusion to another "perfect day in MY paradise"
